      " . . . His family moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1929, where he lived until entering the Army Air Corps in December 1941. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant on 5 August 1942. His military career included duty in the Operations and Intelligence fields. During World War II, he served as an operations controller in a B-26 Combat Bomb Wing in Europe. During the Korean Conflict, Mr. Cash served as Director of Targets, FEAF Bomber Command in Japan. He served a total of 14 years with Strategic Air Command. Mr. Cash retired from the Air Force in December, 1963 as a Lieutenant Colonel with 22 years of service. His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal. . . ."
