Warren County Indian Campaign Veterans

"Indian Wars" is the name given to various conflicts between the colonial and federal governments with the native tribes.  See the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Indian_Wars. for a general discussion of the numerous conflicts that occurred both east and west of the Mississippi River.

Warren County undoubtedly had many residents who had served in the local militia during the various conflicts in the Northwest Territory including the defeat of the armies led by General Josiah Harmar in 1790 and by General Arthur St. Clair in 1791 as well as the American victory at the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794 which led to the 1795 Treaty of Greenville. I do not know of any collection of the names of those who served during this time period.

Please email any additional information or comments about your Warren County veteran who served in any of the various Indian campaigns to Arne Trelvik
