Comments:

Pensions were granted to those who were disabled as a result of their service and to the heirs of those who died while serving in the war.
Bounty Land Act of 1850 for service in any war since 1790 - 40 acres for 1 month service, 80 acres for 4 months' service, 160 acres for 9 months' service (not assignable until 1852)
Bounty Land Act of 3 Mar 1855 for service of at least 14 days or traveled 1200 miles - 160 acres (cumulative including previous grants)
Pension Act of 1871 - veterans who served 60 days or more or their widows (if married before 1815)
Pension Act of 1878 - veterans who served 14 days or more or their widows.
