Mary Lawson and her sister Rosamond (Lawson) HurdDIED—On Tuesday, the 17th ult., in Waynesville, Mary Lawson, of cholera, and on the Saturday following, of the same disease, her sister, Mrs. Rosamond Hurd, wife of Robert Hurd, long known in this vicinity, and highly esteemed by all who knew them. In the death of Mrs. Hurd, the poor have lost a kind friend, whose active benevolence was limited only by the want of means to administer to their necessities. A husband, a sister, and a large circle of near and dear friends are left to mourn for them, so dearly beloved. Rosamond Hurd was a well-known member of the Society of Friends, to which body her husband also belongs. Mary Lawson was a regular attendant at the Methodist Episcopal Church when her health permitted. Both lived in the hope of a blissful immortality in a future state of existence. |
