"The stone is badly weathered. I have rubbings from about 20 years ago which bring out the carvings. Fred was a stone carver. He spelled the name DOEBLER as DEOBLER which is an odd spelling, not once but three times. The family chose not to change the stone back in the 1920s. I wonder if we will be as interesting to our descendants in the next century?"
