Know all men by these presents; That Louis Durain and Barbara Durain his wife of Warren County in the State of Ohio in consideration of Two Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixteen Dollars to them paid by Jacob Debolt of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant bargain sell and convey to the said Jacob Debolt his heirs and assigns forever, the following described real Estate, Situate in the Township of Harlan, County of Warren and state of Ohio. Towit "Beginning at a stone in the patent line corner to William Little, thence with his line S.38°E.104 poles to a stone, thence N.45°5’E.85 poles, N.46°45’E.31-92 [sic} poles to a stone, thence N.36°W.107-3/10 poles to a hickory in the patent line, thence with said patent line S.44°6’W.55-92/100 poles to a stone, thence N.44°20’W. 114 poles to a stake on the banks of a run, thence up said run in the centre thereof as it meanders 95 poles when reduced to a straight line an Ironwood and two dogwoods, thence S. 44°54’E.72 poles to a stone in the patent line, thence with said patent line N.44°6’E18-1/2 poles to the beginning, containing one hundred and twenty six acres more or less. Saving and Excepting twenty four acres more or less heretofore conveyed to Jacob Debolt by John Scheer and Louis Durain & their wives*, which deed is duly recorded Leaving one hundred and two acres more or less, conveyed by this deed and all of the estate, title and interests of the said Louis Durain and Barbara his wife either in Law or Equity of in and to the said premises: together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging, and all the rents, issues and profits thereof: To Have and to Hold the same to the only proper use of the said Jacob Debolt his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Louis Durain and Barbara his wife, for themselves and for their heirs, executors and administrators do hereby covenant with the said Jacob Debolt his heirs and assigns that they are the true and lawful owners of the said premises and have full power to convey the same: and the title, so conveyed, is free, clear and unincumbered: And further that they will warrant and defend the same against all claim or claims of all persons whomsoever, In witness whereof the said Louis Durain and Barbara his wife who hereby releases her right and expectancy of dower in the said premises have hereunto set their hands and seals this twenty Eight [sic] day of October in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven. (signed and sealed by grantors in presence of) J.D. Wallace & Charles Butz. Received for record Nov 5th 1867 recorded 6th same month. On the deed were O.S. Int. Res. Stamps of value $600 cancelled [sic] S.D. per A.B.G., Nov 5th 1867, A.B. Gooch, R.N.C.

*) As of 21 Jul 2001 DNR does not have this deed

The State of Ohio, County of Warren, SS// Be it remembered that on the 28th day of October, in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven, before me, a Notary Public in and for said County, personally came Louis Durain and Barbara Durain his wife, the grantors in the foregoing deed, and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned, and the said Barbara Durain wife of the said Louis Durain being examined by me, separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of said deed being by me made known and explained to her, as the Statute directs, declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is still satisfied therewith, as her act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my Notarial seal, on the day and year aforesaid. (Seal) J.D. Wallace, Notary Public for Warren County, Ohio.
