Lefever Farm Graveyard
Turtlecreek Township, Warren County, Ohio

Little is known about the burials on this farm.  The farm was owned by the Lefever family from 1805 through 1884.  A Peter Lefever bought 50 acres in the NE part of the West 1/2 of Section 28 on 20 April 1805 (Warren County Deeds Vol. 1:267). This Peter Lefever sold the property the following year to an Elias Lefever (1770-c1854) who was probably his brother.  The farm remained in the Lefever family until sold by Elias' daughter-in-law Martha (Irons) Lefever to a Mary M. Loer on 28 Oct 1884 (Warren County Deeds Vol. 63:610).  Martha Lefever was the widow of Peter Lefever (1812-1868)

A farm pond was built near the burial site in the late 1950s.  Current owner recalls more stones at the burial site at one time.  When filling the pond back in at a later date, a bulldozer accidently broke up the burial site as well.  The remaining stones & fragments that were recovered have been placed by an evergreen tree.
