Shaker Hill School
Genevieve (Fordyce) McCreary will share her experiences while attending this country school from 1921 to 1927. The Shaker Hill school located at the top of the Shaker Hill [west of Lebanon on Route 63, just past McClure Road] was built in 1875 and closed (with all country schools) in 1927.

The School was featured in two different Memory Lane Articles by Marion Snyder, published in the Lebanon Star on March 1, 1980 featuring the Class of 1900 and on June 27, 1981, featuring the Class of 1926. Copies of the articles and some photos will also be available. We would welcome any additional photos or stories that you would like to share.

Society members will attempt to help you with your genealogy questions on any topics or “brick wall” type problems that you may be experiencing. Light refreshments will be served following the meeting.
