" I've attached a copy of Lydia Mae Hizar's picture. Lydia is my 3G-grandmother (1812-1908). I wish I knew when or where this photo was taken but I don't. My best guess is this was taken on her own porch in LeGrand, IA, but this is only speculation."

  • The Presbyterian cemetery no longer exists.
  • The combined Baptist and Methodist Cemeteries are now referred to as the Pioneer Cemetery.
  • The Lebanon Cemetery is an active cemetery which has been expanded a number of times since this map was drawn.

John MARSH b. 12 July 1823 Warren Co, Ohio d. 15 June 1896 Maroa, Macon Co, Illinois buried Maroa Cemetery married 29 July 1844 Warren Co, Ohio Henrietta Jane SHERMAN.
John MARSH was a son of Jesse MARSH & Anna (SLOAN) of Warren Co, Ohio.
I would like to hear from other MARSH, SHERMAN, SLOAN and other related surnames descendants."

Ralph Edwin Miller

contributed 21 Aug 2005 by Elmer K Miller who writes,
"Attached child’s photo is Ralph Edwin Miller, b Mar 07 1903, d Oct 09 1974. Only son of Joseph H Miller and Laura Adda Pritchard Miller. These Miller's lived app 3 miles east of Springboro on what was at one time the 'Sheets Farm' south side of present day SR 73. Joseph H was one of the sons of Lewis N Miller , d 1893, and he the son of Solomon Miller, d 1864, both in Clearcreek Township. The subject graduated from Springboro High School in the class of 1921, m Stella Mae Alford in 1924. There followed five children, four of which are still living. The family’s 300 year linage may be found in both the book, Gayen Miller, an Irish Quaker and his American Descendants, 1675-1993, by Elmer K. Miller and on the Family Tree Maker CD # 29."

Sutton House
House built in South Lebanon, Ohio ca. 1795-96 for General David Sutton which later became an inn. Ownership passed to a John Hackett and a Harry Harding before being torn down in 1964.
