George Harrison Walker (1842-1914)
Civil War Service and Pension Records

George Harrison Walker enlisted on 30 Aug 1861 at the age of 19 and served throughout the Civil War as a Private in Co I of the 17th Ohio Infantry Regiment. George filed for an invalid pension on 26 Feb 1883 which was granted by certificate #794402. On 21 Sep 1914, George was admitted to the Central Branch of the National Military Home in Jefferson Twp, Montgomery County, Ohio where he remained until his death on 30 Dec 1914. He was buried in the Union Church Cemetery in Washington Twp, Warren County, Ohio. Following his death, his wife, Martha, filed for a widow's pension on 14 Jan 1915 which was granted by certificate #837510. Martha died on 14 Jan 1922 and was buried with her husband.
