      "George M. Nelson, in whom the citizens in Allen County are especially interested, acquired his preliminary education in the schools of Hillsboro, Ohio, after which he pursued a classical course in the National Normal school in Lebanon, Ohio, where he was graduated in 1868. During the following year he served as deputy postmaster in Lebanon, and later he purchased and operated a farm in Brown County, that State."

    • "In Loving Memory of Mrs. John Myron Noble, nee Inez Leonora Brown," obituary, Western Star (Lebanon, OH), Thursday, 5 June 1947
      "Inez Brown Noble was born near Lebanon, Ohio, on Jul 29, 1864, the daughter of Norman and Edith Hizar Brown.
      She attended the Rock School and later studied voice under Miss Blanche Scoville of Lebanon. She continued her education at the National Normal University at Lebanon where she was graduated with the degree of Instructor in Music in 1888 and with the degree of Artist in Music in 1889. During the next two years she taught music in Middletown, Ohio.
      On October 15, 1891, she was united in marriage with Mr. John Myron Noble, Principal of Plains Seminary in Meigs County, Ohio.
      After her husband's untimely death, she returned with her two children to her girlhood home, Lebanon, Ohio, and resided there with them until 1920. While in Lebanon she was a faithful member of the choir of the Main Street Presbyterian Church and had a number of music pupils. . . ."
