STUDENTS & FACULTY

The school had about 80,000 graduates. The names of a small handful of them (as submitted by researchers or as posted elsewhere on the internet) are listed below. The list is slowly growing. If you would like to add your ancestor to this list, send an email to Arne H Trelvik with whatever information you might have about their attendance at the school. I'd be happy to include a photo and short bio if you have them.

He went on to have an illustrious career in the law. He was a member of the Ohio Legislature the year after he graduated. He went on to get a LLB and LLM from the University of Michigan before he taught there and then went on to become a Justice of the Supreme Court in Manilla, Phillipines. • Judy Tooman provided the following information regarding her great grandmother in a 9 Oct 2014 email:
"Sarah Belle (Sallie) Jones was born 24 Jun 1853 in Pisgah, Butler Co., OH to Jesse P. Jones and Emaline Cunningham. She was a member of the National Normal University class of 1872 in Lebanon, OH.
She married on 3 Mar 1874, William Franklin (Frank) Morris, son of James K. Morris and Charlotte Snook. The wedding took place at her parents' home in Lebanon, located on the hill overlooking Broadway Street, a short distance from the old Lebanon Pike Highway 42.
Their children were Jesse Jones Morris (1877-1913); James K Morris (1879-1933); Bessie Morris (1884-1884); Charles Stanley Morris (1887-1972); Robert Lincoln Morris (1892-1978); and Milward Frank Morris (1897-1962).
The family lived in Lebanon until after June 1877 when they moved to Evendale, Hamilton Co., OH to live with Sallie's grandmother, Mrs. Jesse (Sarah Jane Bryant) Cunningham. After the deaths of Sallie's mother & grandmother and their estate settlements, Frank & Sallie moved into the original Cunningham homestead nearby.
Frank Morris was a member of the Evendale Board of Education for 20 years and of the Walnut Hills Universalist Church. Sallie was a member of the Lockland Presbyterian Church. In about 1918, they moved to Hartwell in Hamilton Co., and sometime after Frank's death there on 26 September 1928, Sallie moved back to Lebanon. She died there on 6 Aug 1940 and both are buried in the Lebanon Cemetery as are their parent."
