Hannah Corwin
DIED—On the 8th inst., at her residence near this place, of Consumption,
Hannah, consort of David Corwin, aged
69 years. She was born at Morristown in the State of New Jersey, March
the 18th, 1782. Her father, with his family, moved to Bourbon County,
Kentucky, in 1790; she was married 20th Sept., 1798; moved with her husband
to this place 1799. They lived together 53 years; she was a member of
the Baptist Church for twenty years previous to her death. As a wife she
was affectionate and kind; as a mother she was loving and attentive; as
a sufferer she was meek and patient during her long illness; and as a
Christian, she was devoted and active, and, although she had passed through
the varied vicissitudes of a long and eventful life, still she could review
its checkered scenes and exclaim, “surely Thy goodness and mercy
have followed me all the days of my life.” She died in the full
hope of a blessed immortality, thus giving Testimony, “That blessed
are the dead that die in the Lord for they cease from their labors and
their works do follow them!” She has left a husband and six children,
with a large number of relatives and friends, to mourn her loss. S.
