Eleanor Rapp

Deceased, Oct. 1st, 1851, in Hopkinsville, Ohio, Mrs. Eleanor Rapp, consort of Matthias Rapp, in the 46th year of her age. Mrs. Rapp was a native of New York and emigrated to this State in the year 1821. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in the year 1826, and shortly afterwards obtained peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. As a Christian, she was fruitful in every good work. Her social qualities were of a superior order. She was a devoted wife, a faithful and affectionate mother, and her heart abounded in sympathy for the poor and necessitous. For years she was a child of deep affliction, and especially the last three months of her mortal career, but the Saviour in whom she trusted, was to her a stronghold and a triumphant deliverer. I never witnessed so illustrious an example of patience and faith. Her end, as was expected, was tranquil, and whilst her bereaved husband and two children experience an irreparable loss, they mourn not as those who have no hope.
