Eli Sweney (1807-1891)

Eli Sweney, and old resident of the county, died at his home on the Dayton pike, three miles north of town, where he was born and lived his long life of eighty-four years. He was buried on Tuesday at Eleven o'clock from his late home. His remains were lain in the old burying ground on the Dayton pike. The services were in charge of Rev. C. M. Williams.

Monroe Sweny (1833-1889)

Obituaries
Monroe Sweny died of typhoid fever at his home in Clearcreek township, Friday, August 9, and was buried Monday, August 12, in the Kirby Graveyard. He leaves a widow and six children suviving [sic] him. He was born in Clearcreek township, 56 years ago and remained throughout his life an honored and respected citizen of the county.
