OBITUARY

Mrs. Elizabeth R. Sides, only daughter of Nehemiah and Elizabeth Wharton, was born August 3rd, 1835 and departed this life January 7th, 1913, aged 77 years, 5 months and 4 days, being a resident of this county during these years.
She was united in marriage to Samuel Sides, October 5th, 1854. To this union were born eight children, of which four survive her, one daughter, Mrs. Anna E. Smith and three son, H. Wilbur, G. Wallace and A. Lincoln. She leaves also eleven grandchildren to mourn their loss.
Prepared herself for a teacher, and taught in her younger years.
Being quite a reader she kept well informed on current and religious events of her day.
Her early religious life was associated with the Hicksite Friends society, but at her marriage she with her husband united with the M.E. church, to which she remained faithful to the end.
Being left motherless in infancy she was tenderly cared for by her aunt Mrs. Ann Engle in her early years.
