Mrs. Giddy Schuyler died Monday evening, October 12, at her son’s residence, aged eighty-one years. Her funeral took place Wednesday, the 14th, at the Christian Church. The services were conducted by Rev. T. Doughman. She had been a faithful and consistent member of the church for forty-five years. Her remains were interred in the Goshen Cemetery.

Iven Schuyler Succumbs at 79
Iven R. Schuyler, aged 79, died Sunday at the home of
a son, Hubert Schuyler of Oregonia, following an illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Oswald Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Alec Hauck of Dayton. Burial was in Turtlecreek Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Ella; three sons, William, Herbert and Hubert of Oregonia; five daughters, Mrs. Anna Hartzell, Mrs. Lillian Mundabaugh, Mrs. Leona Glider, Mrs. Lena Shanefeldt, all of Dayton; Mrs. Cordelia Carter of Spring Valley; 56 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

SCHUYLER RITES.
Mrs. Jennie Coates Schuyler died at her home in Cincinnati
last week. Burial was made in the Maineville
cemetery on Saturday.
Mrs. Schuyler spent her early life in this community. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna Bauman, of Madisonville, one brother, James Coates, of Florida, and one son Rev. Burl Schuyler, a missionary in India.

OBITUARY.
Leo L. Schuyler, eldest son of William and Rebecca
Schuyler, was born near Pleasant Palin on March 25, 1859. After
five weeks of constant suffering he peacefully passed away at the age
of 59 years, 7 months, and 1 day.
On May 24, 1892 he was united in marriage to Rachael Doughman, to this union three children came to brighten the home, Mrs. Herman Eltzroth and W. J. Schuyler both of Lebanon, one son having preceded him to the Great Beyond on September 13, 1917.
Mr. Schuyler has been a faithful member of the I. O. O. F. for the past twenty-eight years; he was a good neighbor and friend always ready to lend a helping hand.
He leaves to mourn his going the widow, two children, six grandchildren, two brothers, one sister and a host of other relatives and friends.

LEROY M. SCHUYLER.
Leroy Montague Schuyler, the elder son of Leo
and Rachel Schuyler, was born on the Hayner farm near South Lebanon
on October 17, 1898 and departed this life September 13, 1917 at the age
of 18 years 11 months and 4 days. His boyhood days were spent near South
Lebanon and the greater part of his education was received at this place.
he moved to Lebanon with his parents about a year ago. For the past few
months, he has been employed at the American Rolling Mills in Middletown
where his sudden death occurred. he was a loving and dutiful son and brother
and a friend to all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his loss besides
his parents, a sister, Mrs. Herman Eltzroth and brother,
William Jess Schuyler.

Luella Mabel (Porter) Schuyler
LUELLA M. SCHUYLER
Mrs. Luella M. Schuyler, wife of Ivan
Schuyler died July 21 after the short illness of three days and
was buried at Turtlecreek churchyard.
Her maiden name was Luella Mabel Porter, she was born
at Seymour, Indiana and married to Ivan Schuyler, May
10, 1890.
She leaves eight children, one grand child and her husband to mourn her
untimely loss. Her older girls Annie and Lillian
were living in Dayton but arrived in time to see her before the summons
came. Her third daughter Cordelia will keep home for
her father and they will try to keep the little ones, two boys and two
girls, together. It is quite an undertaking as Cordelia
is only just past 16, but they who know this estimable girl best, will
join the writer in thinking she will succeed.
The Schuylers, one and all have the sympathy and will have the assistance
of all who know them.
Mrs. Schuyler was a good mother and neighbor but death which spares neither
the good nor the beautiful has added her name to the long list of the
great majority. Her family will miss her cheerful presence but her little
children will miss her most of all.

RACHEL DOUGHMAN SCHUYLER
Rachel Ann Doughman, daughter of Jesse and Marjorie
Doughman, was born August 7, 1872 and departed this life July
13, 1944, at the age of 71 years, 11 months, 6 days. On May 24, 1892,
she was united in marriage to Leo Schuyler. Their home
was blessed with three children, Florence, Monty, and William.
Mr. Schuyler and a son Monty preceded her in death.
When a small child, Mrs. Schuyler united with the Baptist church at New Hope and for the past several years has been a member of the East Baptist church of Lebanon, which she faithfully attended until she was forced to retire on account of illness.
Besides her two children, Florence Elizabeth and William
Schuyler, of Lebanon, she is survived by seven grandchildren,
two of whom are serving in the armed forces, seven great-grandchildren,
two brothers, William of Newtonville, Clifford
of Dayton, and a host of relatives and friends.

ILLNESS FATAL TO LOCAL RESICENT
Rites Held Saturday Afternoon for Mrs. Rachel Schuyler
Following a two-months illness, Mrs. Rachel Schuyler, aged 71, died at her home on North Mechanic Street at 7 p.m. Thursday. A native of Pleasant Plain, she had lived in Lebanon practically her lifetime. She was a member of the East Baptist Church.
Funeral services in charge of Rev. M. G. Mittelstedt were held Saturday afternoon at the Oswald Funeral Home with interment in Lebanon Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Herman Eltroth and
a son, William Schuyler, both of Lebanon; two brothers,
William Doughman of Newtonsville and Clifford
Doughman of Dayton, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren

William Schuyler Answers Final "Taps" From
on High - Other Harvests of the Grim Reaper
William Schuyler, Company B, Forty-eighth Ohio Infantry died Friday, aged 67 years, eight months and eight days. Of his three children two survive him.
He was married to Cordelia Brown of Clermont county, Ohio, March 14, 1868. She is left in her aged widowhood to mourn the loss of her aged companion. Her sorrow while deep, will be alleviated by the loving care of her children and twelve grand children.
The funeral was conducted by the chaplain of the G. A. R. Post of Lebanon at Unity Chapel, Oregonia and the interment at the cemetery at Quaker church. He was followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends.
As a soldier he did his duty at the call of his county. As a neighbor he was retiring and inoffensive. As a citizen he was respected by all who knew him best.
Slowly perhaps, but not less certainly, the ranks of the boys of '62-'65 are being depleted. The feet that trod the wine-press in the bloody vintage of the Rebellion are growing feeble, the heads whiter, the eyes dimmer and soon the last tattoo shall sound for the last survivor of the greatest struggle fraught with the momentous results the world ever saw and it is to be hoped will never see again.

William Schuyler Succumbs at 68
William G. Schuyler, 68, Route 1, Oregonia, retired boiler
engineer died Saturday, October 31, in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He had suffered a stroke in Lebanon the previous evening.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Oswald Funeral Home, with the Rev. Max Mittelstedd in charge. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Yunkes, Route 2, Lebanon, Mrs. Norman Brown of Middletown and Mrs. Violet Bishop of Dayton; two brothers, Herbert of Cincinnati and Hubert of Wilmington; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Hartzell of Dayton, Mrs. Carl Slyder of Brookville, Mrs. Lena Shamebelt, of New Lebanon and Mrs. Cordelia Carter of Roxanna; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
