Clifford F. Morris
CLIFFORD F. MORRIS, 91 Clifford F. Morris,
91, rural route two, Berrien Springs, a resident of Niles Township, died
at 10 a. m. today at his home. He had been ill six weeks.
Morris was born in Warren County, Ohio, Feb. 11, 1862, and came here from
New Carlisle, Ind., 85 years ago.
The former farmer married Mary Whittig in Niles on March
5, 1893.
His widow survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Erwyn Kehrer
of Niles and Mrs. Ruth Cleary of Detroit; one son, Lyle
Morris, at home; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Grace
Simpson of Barrington, Ill.
Friends may call at the Kiger Funeral Home, where funeral services will
be held Friday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. T. M. Greenhoe
of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook
Cemetery.

Garret Morris
DIED
On the 11th instant, Garret, son of John and
Jane Morris, aged five years and two months.
Death has all seasons for his own,
He wanders through earth’s bowers,
And plucks, with an unsparing hand,
The buds as well as flowers.
A bud of promise was this boy
Just bursting into bloom,
But nipped before its blossoming
And laid into the tomb.
Death’s signet rests upon his brow,
Closed are the sparkling eyes,
The little active agile form
All cold and lifeless lies.
But far beyond the shining stars,
Above all earth’s alarms,
His ransomed soul has found a rest

Richard H. Morris, 84,
Dies in Buchanan
BUCHANAN, June 11. – Richard H. Morris, 84, who came to Berrien county when he was four and has lived here since, was stricken in the home of his son, Max, 117 Cayuga street, at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Born in Ohio, Dec. 13, 1857, Mr. Morris was one of Buchanan’s oldest residents. He is survived by two sons, Max and Almer, St. Joseph; two brothers, Royal and Clifford, Berrien Springs; a sister, Mrs. Grace Simpson, Niles; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was a lifelong member of the Berrien Springs Methodist church. Friends may call at the ---------[rest of article missing]

Sarah Jane Snuff Morris
Mrs. Jonathan Morris, who has been confined to her room since early last Spring, quietly and suddenly passed away on Tuesday morning, the 14th inst. The cause of her death was a complication of diseases, and of such a character that medicine seemed to afford her no permanent relief. She was born in Warren County, Ohio, June 22, 1828. Sixteen years ago, she with her husband and children came to Michigan and located in Niles Township, where they remained until about two years ago, when they moved into this township. Some ten years ago she, and her husband and three oldest children, were converted, and united with the Berrien Centre Free Will Baptist Church, and she has remained a faithful and consistent Christian until her death. She died firm in the Christian’s faith and a blessed hope of a glorious immortality beyond the grave. Previous to her death she had made a request that Elder Lewis Jones, her former pastor and by whom she was baptized, should preach her funeral sermon, and as he could not attend the funeral, the sermon was postponed. The services were conducted by Rev. W. M. Smith, of Berrien Springs.

"William Judson Morris", The Western Star, Lebanon, Ohio, Thursday, December 21, 1911
William Judson Morris was born in Lebanon, Ohio, on September 5, 1835, and died at Washington D.C., on December 15, 1911. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Lebanon on December 18. [He is buried in an unmarked grave in Old Section Lot 132 along with his wife, in-laws and three children]
He was the son of Jacob Morris and his wife, Jane Dunlevy, who was the daughter of Judge Francis Dunlevy and the sister of the late A. H. Dunlevy of Lebanon. There were two other children of this marriage, one a son, Dr. Frank D. Morris, of Hamilton, Ohio, who was a surgeon of the 35th Reg. O. V. I., in the Civil War and who died during the war; and the other a daughter, Mrs. Mary Boynton who died in Chicago several years ago. Edward H. Morris, a son of Jacob Morris by a later marriage is still living in California. Jacob Morris was a resident of Lebanon for many years and was long connected with the Western Star as one of the proprietors, first with A. H. Dunlevy and afterwards with William H. P. Denny. He served as Treasurer of Warren County for three terms and later was in the service of the Government in the office of the Collector of Internal Revenue of this district. He was a leading and prominent member and officer of the East Baptist church of Lebanon and was an eminently respectable and highly esteemed citizen.
His son, Judson, the subject of this notice, obtained a good English education at the Lebanon Academy, and at the time of his death was probably one of the few surviving person who were present as a student at the opening of that institution in 1845.
In February 1855 he was married to Laura, daughter of Dr. David Anderson, late of Lebanon, who survives her husband. They lived together in marriage nearly fifty-seven years. Five children were born to them, of whom four died in early childhood. A daughter Helen still survives.
Mr. Morris has been in the Government service at Washington for forty-two years continuously, for most of that time in the Internal Revenue Bureau. He had made a thorough study of the laws relating to the Internal Revenue and had become entirely conversant with them and very proficient in their interpretation and administration. He long occupied a very important and responsible position in the Bureau and such confidence was placed in his ability and fidelity that he was frequently assigned by the Government to assist the U. S. attorneys in the conduct of prosecutions against persons charge with violations of the Revenue Laws in various parts of the country. He was inflexibly honest and devoted himself assiduously and faithfully to the interests of the Government. It is the opinion of those who have opportunities of knowledge on the subject that he was an exceedingly intelligent capable, useful and valuable servant of the Government. For the past eighteen months his health had been failing and for a considerable part of that time he had been unable to continue in the discharge of this official duties but he retained his position in the service until his death. In politics Mr. Morris was an ardent Republican and generally he came from Washington to vote at State and Presidential elections at Lebanon which he considered as his domicile. As a husband and father he was tender and affectionate and his loss is deeply mourned by his surviving widow and daughter. He was warm and steadfast in his affections.
He never lost his love for Lebanon the home of his ancestry and of his boyhood, and had intended to return and spend his last days here. He died with serenity and in the faith of Jesus Christ.
Worter Calvin Morris
BERRIEN CENTER RESIDENT
DIES SATURDAY MORNING
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at East Union church in Berrien township for Worter C. Morris, old well known and respected resident of Berrien Center who died Saturday morning at his home there.
Rev, R. D. Wearne of the Berrien Springs Methodist church conducted the service which was largely attended. Burial was in East Union cemetery.
Although Mr. Morris had been in ill health for sometime his demise came as a shock to his many friends,
Mr. Morris was born in Franklin, Ohio, seventy-five years ago and at the age of eleven he accompanied his family to Berrien county. He had been a resident of Berrien Center for many years, His wife died at their home there several years ago.
Mr. Morris leaves two sons and two daughters, Earl Morris of Yakima, Wash.; Floyd Morris, Mrs. Nina McPherson and Mrs. Daisy Braman of South Bend, Ind., and three brothers, Royal Morris of Berrien township; Clifford Morris of Fairland; R. H. Morris of Buchanan and one sister, Mrs. Grace Simpson of Niles.
