Max Gilpin

FRANKLIN - Max Gilpin, 74, of Springboro, died Tuesday at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, where he had been a patient since Feb. 27.
Mr. Gilpin was born and reared in Springboro.  He operated the Gilpin Sohio Service Station in Springboro from 1951 to 1964.  Before acquiring the station, he was a bush pilot in Alaska for 22 years.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; a brother, Dwight of Springboro; and two sister, Mrs. Myra Fox of Miamisburg and Mrs. Rachel Welsh of Harveysburg.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Unglesby Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
