MATTHEW FOLEY DEAD MATHEW FOLEY Buried Here At Noon Today In Calvary Cemetery Death brought an end to seventeen years of grieving over the violent death of a wife and two daughters before his eyes, when Mathew Foley, aged 82, a prominent farmer of Turtlecreek township, passed away at his home, west of Lebanon Saturday night. He was found dead in bed by his children who immediately notified Coroner Cary. Magistrate Jameson was deputized and after an investigation pronounced death due to heart failure from grief. In 1893 Foley, with a portion of his family was driving across the Big Four railroad tracks at Monroe when a train struck their conveyance, demolishing it and killing the mother and two little girls outright. Foley escaped without a scratch, but the tragedy preyed heavily upon his mind from the first, confining him to his bed for the past six years and finally affecting his heart. He was well and favorably known in this city where he had many warm friends. The funeral services were held this morning at 8:30 o'clock in the Catholic church at Lebanon, O., where a requiem mass was celebrated after which the drive across the county to this city was taken up, the funeral cortege arriving here at noon. The body was interred in the Calvary cemetery besides those who were near and dear who had gone before him. The funeral was largely attended.
