ANOTHER VETERAN ANSWERS FINAL ROLL CALL
Zachariah Flomerfelt Passes Away.
Zachariah Flomerfelt passes away at his home in Butlerville Thursday morning,
April 25th, 1907, after an illness of 4 months of paralysis and other
complications, aged 67 years, 8 months and 16 days. He was born near Loveland,
Ohio, august 9, 1839, and came to Butlerville in 1863.
On May 2, 1864, he enlisted in Company C, 146th
Regiment, Ohio Infantry, and was discharged September 7, 1864, since
which time he has resided in or near Butlerville. He was united in marriage
with Mary H. Runyan, January 16, 1864, and to them were born two daughters.
One died in infancy and other, Mrs. Alda D. Whitacre, died June 1, 1906.
His widow and grandson, Clifton Foster Whitacre, and F. Leroy Whitacre,
and wife and his son-in-law, John W. Whitacre, remain to mourn his loss.
Also a large circle of friends and acquaintances who deeply sympathize
with Mrs. Flomerfelt in this, her second severe bereavement in less than
a year.
Several years ago, Mrs. Flomerfelt suffered an attack of paralysis from
which he recovered but never regained his former ing his last illness
he was again stricken with it. Last December his health became greatly
impaired and his strength and vitality gradually failed until 3 o'clock
when he fell into that sleep from which no bugle note or the re- He was
an honest and upright man and was widely known and respected by all having
been a resident of this vicinity for more than 40 years, and he will be
greatly missed by those who have been associated with him for so many
years.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church at Butlerville, on
Friday afternoon, April 26th, at 2 o'clock and were conducted by Rev.
Shepard, after which the interment was made in the Runyan
Family Cemetery.
