Death of James H. Ewing, Esq.

We are pained to announce to our readers the melancholy intelligence of the death of James H. Ewing, Esq., late Senator from this county, and one of our most prominent and distinguished citizens. He died in Columbus, on yesterday morning, of pulmonary consumption, which disease he had suffered a long and painful affliction. So delicate was his health at the adjournment of the last session of the State Legislature that he was unable to undertake the fatigue of going to his home, and since that period he has been gradually declining until finally death closed his earthly career. His last moments were comforted by the presence of his affectionate wife, and many friends who deeply deplored his loss. His remains were brought to this city, in charge of Mr. A. W. Reeder, of Columbus on this morning’s train, accompanied by several relatives and friends, and will be interred this afternoon. —Cin. Dispatch, Monday evening.
