ROBERT S. DITMARS

Robert S. Ditmars, youngest son of Cornelius and Deliverance Ditmars was born September 4, 1836. Departed this life June 30, 1917, aged 80 years, 9 months and 26 days.
His parents were natives of New Jersey having moved to Warren County, Ohio on June 2, 1832.
On January 19, 1861 he was united in marriage to Sarah E. Davis, who departed this life March 15, 1910.
To this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters. Of these three sons remain to mourn his loss; also five grand children and one sister Mrs. Catherine Mathews of Cumminsville, Ohio.
His entire life was spent on a farm in Warren County. He enlisted in the army May 2, 1864 and was a member of the G. A. R.
He was a mason for fifty-nine years; a member of Morrow Lodge, F. & A. M. No. 265. The lodge attended in a body and conducted the service.
The funeral was held at his residence Tuesday July 3, at 1:30 o’clock conducted by Rev. W. H. Tilford, of Morrow.
