Joseph E. Decker (1839-1911) JOSIE DECKER Josie Decker, one of the most widely known characters in this vicinity,
died suddenly of heart disease at his home in the country, south of town
last Friday morning. He had been in apparent good health up to the very
moment of his death and his passing away adds another to the long list
of men who have died suddenly in this community. He was preparing to go
blackberrying and was putting on his shoes when the silent messenger touched
him lightly and he fell. Source: The Franklin (Ohio) Chronicle,
