Dr. J. O. Creager Former N.N.U. Head Expires

Dr. John Oscar Creager, aged 70, president of National Normal University here from 1901-1907, and retired Cornell University president, died of a heart ailment Tuesday night at his home in Eldorado. A native of Preble county, he returned to his old home in September 1942, from New York City where he had lived since his retirement from Cornell. Dr. Creager also taught in Lebanon high school before going to N.N.U.

Before joining the Cornell faculty, Dr. Creager was dean of the college of education at the university of Wyoming. He had been president of a small college in northern Arizona.

In 1913 he toured eight European countries for a comparative study of university methods.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at his home, with burial in Monroe cemetery. His wife, Leota, survives.
