Nicholas Archdeacon (1837-1913)

OBITUARY.
Nicholas Archdeacon, son of George and Mary Curley Archdeacon, was born in London, England, July 15, 1837. Died August 10, 1913, aged 76 years and 26 days.
He, with is parents, brothers and sisters, came to America and settled in New York in 1841, but three years later came to Lebanon, O., lived there three years, then came to SPringobor, and has lived in or near there ever since. September 29, 1859, he was married to Anna Maria Cowgill, at the home of W. L. Dearth. To them were born twelve children, five dying in infancy, and eight years ago last March their son Edward was called to his heavenly home but Mother Archdeacon still has left, three loving sons and three loving daughters to watch over and care for her in her declining years. He leaves eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and an only sister, Mrs. Ella Marshall, to mourn their loss.
He joined the Methodist Church when a boy of 12 years, but has always been a constant and devoted member, always willing to do his part in the work of the church, and was a very free giver for the cause of Christ. He and Mrs. Mary Bruscup have held membership in the Springboro Methodist Church longer than any member now living. He served in the war of the Rebellion the last hundred days of the war. He and his wife have walked arem in arm through life almost fifty four years. It has always been very noticable with friends and neighbors how devoted ther were to each other.
