On Tuesday afternoon, Mr. R. W. Gilchrist and Mr. Albert Kelsey were thrown from a buggy and considerably injured. Opposite the blacksmith shop of Mr. Earheart, one of the horses took fright, and suddenly backing broke off the end of the tongue, which, in the struggle of the horses came in contact with the ground so violently as to precipitate both of them out of the vehicle. Mr. Kelsey fell in front of the buggy, completely doubled up, and in this situation the wheels passed over his body, bruising and lacerating him severely. Mr. G. was injured in the head—whether from the wheels passing over it, or his fall to the ground, we have not ascertained. Both, we are happy to learn, are doing well. |
