THE MEN OF MORROW On several occasions we have mentioned the activity shown by the men
of Morrow and vicinity in civic and commercial affairs, culminating in
the organization of the club known as The Men of Morrow. On Tuesday night
a meeting was held at which the temporary organization was made permanent,
by-laws were adopted and sails set for a prosperous career. F.
C. Hartsock is president, W. F. Eltzroth, secretary.
On Tuesday evening after the business was transacted, Mr. O. A.
Rust was introduced as chairman. Mr. Rust is called “Pep”
Rust by his friends and we agree that he is full of the real thing. The
meeting was addressed by Dean E. Stanley, D. B. Wilson, John J.
Trainer, O. A. Rust, F. C. Hartsock, A. C. Baker, S. L. Irons and John
M. Mulford. The Morrow Mirror show its enterprise by placing
a souvenir at each place. It was a handsomely printed poem, well suited
to become an official utterance of the club. About 80 persons were present
at the banquet. Ellery E. Hopping of Toronto, South Dakota, is spending a few weeks with his sister, Mrs. Russel Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Walter F. Wilkerson of Springboro and Mr. Van Harlan of Dayton, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. N. Settlemyre of East Main St. Mrs. Howard Conover will give a 1 o’clock luncheon in honor of Miss Bertha Snook at her home in Franklin on Saturday. A number of people from Lebanon will attend.
