Warren Dakin of Hannibal, Mo., joined his family here last week. After a short visit her returned and took with him his wife and children, who have been for several months the guests of Gordon Wright and wife.


Maineville

Will Gorden, of Xenis, was in Maineville on Sunday.
John McGill, of Cincinnati, is home on a two weeks' vacation.
Mr. Taylor and wife, of this place, visted in Goshen last week.
Mark Leever, of Rossburg, was in town last week visiting relatives.
Prof. Little had to dismiss his school last week on account of sickness.
Misses Mary Stevens and Mary Tufts went to Lebanon last week.
Miss Bertha Gaskill has been visiting relatives near Foster's for a few days.
Mrs. Joseph Cook and family, of Philadelphia, have returned to Maineville.
PRof. Mulford and wife, of Mechanicsburg, are spending a short time in Maineville.
Rev. Mr. Briggs preached in the M. E. church in this place on last Sabbath morning and evening.
The ladies' aid society of the M. E. church here will be held on Thursday afternoon, October 23.
Mrs. William Skidmore, who has been very poorly for some time past, is now improving in health.
Fred Reney, of Newtonville, has been visiting at Mr. Gaskill's; in this place, for several days past.
William Hankinson, of Blue Ball, who is running for county commissioner, was in town last week.
Mrs. Charles Chapman, of St. Louis, and Mrs. Decker and daughter, of Franklin, visited Thirza Cottle here last week.
Hon. D. Davis will deliver a temperance lecture in the school yard in this place on next Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock p.m.
The remains of Mrs. Annis Crosson, of Kansas City, who was formerly a resident of this place, were placed in the vault here on last Friday.
A very pleasant surprise party was held at the residence of Rev. Mr. McElwane, at King's Mills, on last Thursday evening. A number of our citizens were disappointed by the inclemency of the weather, which prevented them from being in attendance. Rev. Mr. McElwane and family will soon remove from this place.

Webb Bennett is spending his vacation with his parents.
Miss Bonnie Wikoff is visiting friends at Decatur, Ill.
A new street is being made in the Cox addition to Mason.
J. E. Crist entertained friends from Cincinnati last Sunday.
Mrs. Lizzie Randall spent last Friday with Mrs. Mollie Bursk.
John Crist and wife visited the former's brother at St. Louis last week.
Mrs. Adda Flenner and Miss Winona Sievers visited Monday in the city.
G. C. Dom, wife and mother-in-law spent last Saturday at Mr. Healthy.
Jone Smith, who has been very low with typhoid fever, is convalescing.
The family of Philip Quisenberry moved to Middletown last Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Cummins visited friends in Lebanon last Sunday.
Mrs. Sarah Milligan is the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. J. Seward, at this place.
Phillip Hall now occupies the residence of Mrs. A. J. Seward, at this place.
Mrs. David Pickering was called to the city by the serious illness of her daughter.Andy Kohl has a buyer for his farm, a Queen City man being the would be purchaser.
A. J. Seward and daughter are in Iowa, where MR. Seward was formerly a resident.
F. O. Miller and family and Miss Pearlie Worthman spent SUnday with relatives here.
John Willoughby took advantage of the cheap rates and paid St. Louis a visit last week.
Mrs. B. D. Welton and Mrs. Minnie Pease are spending a few days with relatives in Jamestown.
Cliff Bowyer and sister attended the Dunham-Smith wedding at Morrow last Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Allen Baysore has returned home from the Cincinnati hospital, where she had a large tumor removed.
Rev. Bachus has been employed as pastor of the Universalist church at this place. He occupies the residence lately vacated by Louis Morrison.
Thomas Blackburn has laid claim against the Mason council for $1,000 damages on account of moving the calaboose across his lot in the old grave yard.
The K. of P. lodge, of this place, celebrate their eleventh anniversary this evening by giving an oyster supper in Cox's hall. A number of invitations have been extended and a good time is anticipated.
