NEW COLLEGE
At Lebanon Formally Opened on Monday

Monday, June 12, marked the formal opening of the new Alfred Holbrook College at Lebanon, and was one of the largest celebrations the citizens of Lebanon have witnessed for a long time. For many of the students of the old university it was a reunion; the first since the closing of the institution 16 years ago.

The college building bore a festive air, carpenters and painters having spent several weeks preparing it for the day of opening.

There were a number of musical numbers on the formal program which opened at 2 o'clock, followed by an inspiring address by Myers Y. Cooper, former governor of Ohio, and an alumnus of the old university.

The program included a novelty selection and vocal solo by Helen Short Maxwell; two vocal selections by Marjorie Squires of Franklin; characterization of Eugene O'Neill's "Before Breakfast," by Mrs. George D. Coulter; two vocal selections by Dr. Robert M. Blair.

Frank C. Anderson, Lebanon attorney, presided and introduced the various numbers. Att the conclusion of Mr. Copper's [sic] address, he introduced President Cunningham and the several members of the faculty.

It was announced Monday evening that probably between fifty and sixty students will be enrolled for the first summer term. Two summer sessions will be held during the coming three months with the first regular winter quarter scheduled to open in September.

ENROLLEMENTS
Increase at Alfred Holbrook University.

Dr. H. E. Cunningham, president of the new Alfred Holbrook College, at Lebanon, says: "America is at the gateway to a complete educational revolution. There are faint rumblings of that change to be heard from several directions. By establishing Alfred Holbrook College at Lebanon, Ohio, we have made ourselves a part of a movement whose final accomplishment will be to completely emancipate the human mind and leave upon the individual the true marks of the educational human being."

The annual reunion and home coming of the old Normal School Alumni will be held at Lebanon tomorrow and Judge E. E. Tye of Kentucky will deliver the principal address.

Since the granting of the charter by the State, a rapid increase in enrollment has been noticed. It is believed that a large number of Warren county students will take advantage of the modest expenses and excellent faculty at Alfred Holbrook College. Five members of the new Faculty are Doctors of Philosophy from Ohio State University and have been teachers in Ohio State.
