HISEY REUNION About sixty of the close connection of the Hisey and Williamson families, met on Thursday, August 15th, at the home of Joseph and Ellen Hisey, for the purpose of seeing and greeting one another. The day was a beautiful one, and every one seemed happy. The morning was spent in hand shaking, and each one trying to speak to every one else, and bidding them welcome. At 11:30 the good ladies began prying and peeping into the Mysterious looking baskets, which they found filled and overflowing with all the delicacies of the season. The tables were soon groaning under their load, and it was thought best to relieve them in some way, so the President called to every one to find a place and the chairs were soon taken. After Wm. Gard returned thanks to the Giver of all, the coffee and lemonade was given to all, and the eatables soon, were disappearing fast. After all were satisfied there was abundance left. The election of officers came next – the same officers were retained – Joseph W. Hisey, President and Joseph G. Hisey, Secretary, to meet the third Thursday in August, 1913, at the same place. The afternoon was spent in playing games and pleasant conversation. Quite a number were present from Dayton and Xenia, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, from Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Thorne, of Selma, Mr. and Mrs. Carr, of Liberty, Ind., and others from the neighboring towns. As evening drew near the company began making preparations for going
to their different homes. As we clasped their hands we wondered in our
hearts if we would meet them next year – if not, would we be prepared
for that Reunion Bye and Bye. Source: "Hisey Reunion," Miami
