He Thinks of UsOur good friend, Perry D. Taylor, of Carthage, New York, has been elected commander of Watertown Commandery, No. 11, Knights Templar. Commander Taylor has been generalissimo for the past year. Who is Perry Taylor? Of course we had forgotten a lot of Perry's old friends are asleep in the eternal camping grounds. Well, Perry was a red-headed, freckled faced boy, who lived at the old toll gate on the cemetery road fifty years ago. He was the best diver among all the barefoot boys who swam in Clear Creek. He learned to make paper in the old Franklin Paper Company's mill, where the Logan-Long plant now is. Later he went to China to install paper mills for the Chinese. In all the years Perry has maintained his interest in the old home town and THE CHRONICLE has followed him wherever he went. In renewing his subscription for the 41st time, he writes, "Greetings to you and yours and to old Franklin friends." |
