DRAKE-STEPHENS Miss Thelma Stephens, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Stephens, became the bride of Matthias C. Drake, only son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Drake, of Lebanon, in a beautiful home wedding, Thursday evening at the country place of the bride's parents, on the Port William road. Rev. Hugh J. Wright, the bride's pastor, read the single ring marriage service of the Friends Church, at 8 o'clock, in the presence of members of the family and intimate friends. Colorful garden flowers bedecked the entire house, and roses and fern formed an artistic setting in the bay window of the living room where the ceremony was performed. Preceding the ceremony, Miss Lorena Stephens, sister of the bride, sang "At Dawning." "A Birthday" and "I Love You Truly," were used by Miss Elizabeth B. Reardon, voice teacher and friend of the bride. Mrs. C. H. Williams accompanied the soloists and played Lohengrin's Wedding March as the bridal party took their places before the improvised altar. The bridegroom and his best man, Donald J. Hatfield, of Lebanon, a life-long friend, entered with the clergyman from the right, the ring-bearer, matron or honor and the bride taking their places from the left. Leading the procession was the ring-bearer, Corwin D. Talbert, 6-year old nephew of the bridegroom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Talbert, of West Elkton. He was dressed in "Little Lord Fauntleroy" suit and carried the ring on a white satin pillow. Mrs. A. Clark Lackey, of Mt. Airy, N. C., served her sister as matron of honor. She was becomingly attired in peach gorgette frock, bouffant style with uneven hemline. She wore silver slippers and her flowers were deep pink roses. The bride wore the traditional white, her handsome wedding gown being fashioned bouffant of satin and lace, sleeveless, the skirt, short in front and touching the floor in the back. An orange blossom wreath held the vail in cap shape to her head, which fell in volumnious folds in a long train. She carried a shower bouquet of Bride's roses. Following the congratulations, bride and bridegroom led the guests to the dining-room where a two=course collation was served at small tables. Attracting much comment was the daintily appointed bride's table, centered with the three-tiered wedding cake, flanked on either side with pink tapers, which the bride, herself, cut and served. Mr. and Mrs. Drake departed immediately on a wedding trip through the East. For traveling, the bride was attired in a navy and tan georgette ensemble, fox fur, hat, gloves, purse, footwear, en suite. After July 1, the couple will be at home near West Alexandria, where Mr. Drake has accepted a position as Smith-Hughes instructor in the Lanier High School for the coming year. He is an alumnus of Ohio State University, a member of Delta Theta Sigma Fraternity and has traveled extensively in Europe and South America. Mrs. Drake is an accomplished young lady of very pleasing personality, and her friends are as legion as those of her husband, particularly in school circles since she has successfully taught in the Clinton County schools for the past five years, following her graduation from Wilmington College. She is affiliated with Alpha Phi Kappa Sorority. Invited as guests to the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Drake, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Hatfield and son Harry; Donald J.
