This indenture made the ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Enoch A Ross and Joanna his wife of the county of Warren in the state of Ohio of the first part and John Hill of the county of Clermont and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of six hundred and forty two dollars of lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the said party [sic on the repetition] of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed & confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that certain lot tract or parcel of land containing fifty three acres one rod and thirty six poles by the same more or less situate lying and being in the county of Warren and state of Ohio and bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a (B)urr Oak on the north side of a county road thence S. 44-1/2°E. one hundred and sixty poles to a stake & two Hickories, thence S. 44°W, forty six and a half poles tot a Sugar tree and Gum, thence N.45W. one hundred and thirty one poles to a White Oak stump, thence N80-1/2°W forty poles to a stake, thence S.8-1/2°W. twelve poles to a stake, thence N.16°W. eighteen poles to a stake, thence N.45-1/2°E. thirty one and three fourths poles (passing an Elm corner, at fourteen poles) to a stake, thence N.35°W. two poles to a stake, thence 45-1/2E. two poles to a stake, thence S.35°E. two poles to a stake, thence N 45-1/2E. eight and a half poles to a stake, the east corner to a school lot in Rossburg, thence with a line of said lot N,.37°W. eight poles to the aforesaid county road thence with the same N.80-1/2°E. sixteen poles to a Burr Oak stump on the banks of Little’s run, thence N.50-1/2°E. fourteen poles to a stake, thence N,.71-1/4°E. twenty poles to beginning. Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof, and all the estate right title interest claim or demand whatsoever of the said party of the first part, either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained with the said hereditaments and appurtenances To have and to hold the said premises above particularly mentioned and described to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Enoch A Ross and Joanna his wife do for themselves heirs executors and administrators covenant and grant to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, that they the said party of the first part are lawfully seized in fee of the aforesaid granted premises. that they are free from all incumbrance, that they have good right to sell and convey the same to the said party of the second part as aforesaid: and that they will and their heirs executors and administrators shall Warrant and defend the same to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, against all lawful demands of all persons. In witness whereof the said Enoch A Ross and Joanna his wife parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written. State of Ohio Warren County: Before the undersigned one of the Justices of the Peace within and for the county aforesaid. On this ninth day of January 1833 personally appeared Enoch A. Ross and Joanna his wife the above named grantors, and acknowledged the above indenture to be their voluntary act and deed. And at the same time the said Joanna Ross wife of said Enoch A. Ross being by me first examined separate and apart from her husband and made acquainted with the contents of the above deed by hearing the same read acknowledged that did sign the aforesaid deed and now doth acknowledge the same freely and voluntarily and without any fear force or coercion of her said husband, and further from my own personal knowledge I am satisfied that the above grantors are the persons they represent themselves to be. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9th day of January A.D. 1833. Signed and sealed, Wm Crosson, Justice of the Peace
