"THIS INDENTURE made the Seventeenth day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand
Eight hundred and Six by and between Peter Lefever [sic] of the County of Warren and State of Ohio
of the one part and Elias Lefever [sic] of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Wit-
nesseth that the said Peter Lefever [sic] for and in consideration of the Sum of Four hundred and
fifty Dollars to him in hand paid at the ensealing and delivery of these presents the re-
ceipt thereof is hereby acknoledged [sic] and the said Peter Lefaver [sic] therewith fully Satisfied and
contented Have Granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do Grant bargain and Sell
unto the said Elias Lefevers [sic] a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County
and State aforesaid Beginning at the North East Corner of the West half of Section Number
twenty Eight in the fifth Township of the third or Military Range of Townships running from
said corner South ninety Six poles and twenty links Thence west Eighty two poles and Sixteen
links thence north Ninety Six poles and twenty Links Thence East Eighty two poles and Six-
teen links to the place of Beginning including fifty acres To Have and To Hold to him
the said Elias Lefever [sic] all and Singularly the Land afore mentioned with all and Singular the
appurtenances thereunto or in any wise belonging to the only proper use benefit and behoof
of the said Elias Lefavers [sic] his heirs & assigns forever and the said Peter Lefever [sic] for him-
self his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant to and with the said Elias Le-
favers
[sic] his heirs and assigns forever that the said Peter Lefavers [sic] doth Warrant and forever
Defend unto the said Elias Lefevers [sic] his heirs and assigns forever the hereby Granted and de-
mised premises the said Peter being Legally and rightfully Seized of the Same by purchase
from Joseph Case Sen as will more fully appear by a Deed obtained from said Case In Testi-
mony whereof the said Peter Lefever [sic] hereunto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the date
above written
Ignatius Brown Peter Lefaver [sic] (L.S.)
Christian Lefaver [sic]
STATE OF OHIO WARREN COUNTY SS: before Ignatius Brown one of the associate Judges of the
Court of Common Pleas in said County came the within named Grantor Peter Lefevers [sic] who did
acknoledge [sic] the within Instrument of writing to be his Voluntary act and Deed for the uses
and purposes therein Mentioned In Testimony Whereof I have set my hand and Seal the Seven-
teenth day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Six

NOTE:
Witness "Christian Lefaver" was the venerable early settler of Miami County who married
Geales 'Jely' Meloy in Warren Co. [Warren Co. Mge. Lic. No. 197; application dated 16 Mar 1808;
Warren Co. Probate Marriages ("Licenses Only"), Old Series, Vol. No. 1, pg. 23 (?)].
Elias & Peter Lefever, along with Jacob Lefever (d. 1833) and Miami Co. early settler Daniel
Lefever
were, according to Frederick Co., MD, estate records, Christian's brothers.
