September Term 1832
Application for Naturalization

Personally appeared in open Court, a Court of Record, being the Court of Common Pleas within and for the county & State aforesaid Frederick Pobst, an applicant for naturalization who being duly sworn Declares and Saith: that he is fifty years of age, that he was born in the principality of Saxe=Coburgh=Gotha in the Empire of Germany from whence in the year Eighteen hundred he emigrated to the United States of America and has continued to reside therein ever since that time, that he has been a resident of Warren County in the State of Ohio for about twenty years past. And the said Frederick Pobst further declares & saith, that during his residence aforesaid in the United States he has been attached to the principles of the Constitution thereof, and well disposed to the good order & happiness of the same and that it has been his bona fide intention for at least three years past to become a citizen of the United States; and he further declares and says upon his solemn oath, the he will support the Constitution of the United States and that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiances and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, state or sovereignty whatever and particularly to his Highness the Duke of Saxe=Coburgh=Gotha to whom he was heretofore a subject, and the said Frederick also saith that he has never borne any hereditary title, or been of the order of nobility in any country whatever, and further saith not.

Personally appeared in open Court James Kelly who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he is well acquainted with the within names Frederick Pobst, that he was residing within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States before the 18th day of June 1812, and has continued to reside thein ever since – That sad Frederick for at least five years preceding this time has been and continued to be a resident of the County of Warren in this State, the he has behaved as a man of good moral character attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order & happiness of the same, and further saith not.

Personally appeared in open Court George Kesling, who on being duly sworn deposeth and saith, that he is well acquainted with the within named Frederick Pobst, that he has, for at least five years preceding this time, been and continued to be a resident of warren County in this State, that he has behaved as a man of good moral character attached to the principles of the Constitution of the Unites States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same; and further saith not.
