State of Ohio, Warren County ss:
Personally appeared in open court James Johnson an applicant for naturalization who being sworn as required by law deposeth and saith that he will support the Constitution of the United States of American and that he doth hereby entirely and absolutely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince, potentate, state or Sovereignty whatever and particularly all allegiance and fidelity to his majesty George the fourth King of Great Britain and Ireland &c. And the said James Johnson further saith that he never bore any title or order of nobility either in the country of which he was late a subject or in any country whatever.

State of Ohio Warren County ss: Application of James Johnson for naturalization

Personally appeared in open court John Randall of lawful age who being sworn deposeth and saith that is acquainted with James Johnson an applicant at this term for naturalization, that said Johnson has resided in Deerfield Township in the above County for about seventeen years, that said Johnson was residing in said township and county prior to the eighteenth day of June eighteen hundred and twelve, and that said Johnson has during his resident in this State and County, behaved himself as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States and is well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same

Also Levi Bowyer having sworn in open court deposeth and saith that he has known James Johnson an applicant for naturalization for seventeen years, that said Johnson was a resident of Deerfield township in Warren County prior to the eighteenth day of June One thousand eight hundred and twelve and has resided in said township ever since, and that during his residence he behaved himself as a man of good moral character; and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
