She was born 1814 Augusta Stiles in Woodstock Twp., Windsor Co., VT, d/o Benjamin Stiles & Margery Brewster. By 1818 the family had removed to what is now Symmes Twp., Hamilton Co., OH. In Hamilton Co., on 9 Sep. 1832 she married Thomas Fitzwater, s/o William & Elinor Fitzwater. The family was residing in Clermont Co. for the 1850 & 1860 census & then moved to Pleasant Plain, Harlan Twp., Warren Co.

They had 5 children:
Harriet Fitzwater b. ca 1833 died unmarried 1903 Warren Co., OH Charles Fitzwater b. ca 1835 died unmarried 1903 Warren Co., OH Mary Elizabeth Fitzwater b. 23 Oct. 1840, married Frederick Boorom 1 Aug. 1865 in Warren Co., died 3 Jan 1882 Warren Co., buried Ingles Cemetery, Pleasant Plain Sarah Fitzwater b. 18 Dec 1844 married her 1st cousin Benjamin Harper Stiles 1871 Warren Co., OH died 1904 Warren Co. Thomas Gatch Fitzwater b. ca 1856 d. 190?

Augusta Fitzwater's death is recorded in 3 documents as 3 different dates.
Record of Deaths, Probate Court as reported by her daughter Sarah Stiles it is listed as Jan. 16, 1883
Application to Probate Will it is listed as Jan. 17, 1882
In the Administration Book it is listed as Jan. 17, 1884
At this point I suspect 1883 is the correct date.

In the name of the Benevolent father of all I Augusta Fitzwater do make and publish this my last will and testament. 1st I give and devise and bequeath to my son Charles S. Fitzwater at my death my house and lot consisting about one acre of ground which I now occupy Situate in the Township of Harlan, County of Warren and State of Ohio. If the said Charles L. Fitzwater should die before the decease of myself, then it is my will that said house and lot shall go to his heirs. Signed sealed and acknowledged by said Augusta Fitzwater as he last will and testament in our presence and signed by us in her presence.

To The Honorable, The Judge of Said Court:
And now comes Charles L. Fitzwatter and produces for admission to Probate in said Court, the last Will and Testament of Augusta Fitzwater late of resident of the Township of Harlan in said County, who died on the 17 day of January A. D. 1882. And says that said Testatrix died leaving no husband and the following persons; all of her next of kin resident in the State of Ohio.
