State of Ohio Warren County, Seventh Judicial Circuit of the Court of Common Pleas.Personally appeared in open Court Joseph
Bundy who being sworn deposeth and saith, that he is at this time
a resident of the County of Warren and state aforesaid, that he is an
English man by birth and a subject of George the fourth King of Great
Britain, Ireland &c – and that it is his honest intention to
become a citizen of the United States of America and to renounce forever
all allegiance and fidelity to any and every foreign Prince, Potentate,
State or Sovereignty whatever and especially all allegiance and fidelity
to his majesty George the fourth, King of Great Britain Ireland &c
and further saith not. Joseph Bundy and his wife, Hannah Bracher Bundy are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Lebanon. Her gravestone says “Mrs. Bundy was a native of Rowdown near Southhampton, Eng. emigrated to Lebanon 1819 with her husband and one child where she lived respected until her death.” On page 797 of Beer’s History of Warren County it says that Joseph and Hannah were “natives of Dorcetshire, England, and emigrated in 1817 and settled near Lebanon . . .” |
