Baptist Graveyard

#231
In memory of
Christopher M. Jones
who departed this life
Sept. the 30th 1823
in the 43rd year of his age
Pat Peck writes on 12 May 2008
"Christopher M. Jones is my ggg grandfather. Do you know who his parents were? I'd like to exchange Jones family with you. Do you know who Susanna Jones was? Perhaps a sister of Christopher M. Jones?

I visited the Pioneer Cemetery perhaps 25 years ago & found these stones, along with mention of C.M.'s death in the newspaper. About 1877 someone had C.M.'s remains moved to Monument Cemetery in Philadelphia. That cemetery was later moved to Lawnview in Rockledge PA, and I found the plaque marking his burial spot at Lawnview.

I have been looking for C. M.'s parents for several years. I've made several trips to Philadelphia and to Burlington Co NJ to research C.M.'s wife, Lydia Taylor, dtr. of Aaron Taylor & Abigail Nutt."

"I believe Susanna Jones who is also buried in that cemetery is our ancestor who was married to Joseph Jones, Sr. I have been in contact with Judy Tooman of Colorado Springs, CO, who thinks this Susanna Jones is our ancestor. We believe that Joseph probably died earlier and his death and burial are unknown."
