WILLIAM G. MOUNTS, farmer, P. O., Morrow, is another of the old, well-known citizens of Warren Co. He was born in Hamilton Township in 1809, and is a son of Joseph Mounts, one of the pioneers, a mention of whom is made in the sketch of Alex. Mounts, in Union Township's history. Our subject was brought up on the farm and received only a limited education in the early subscription schools. He was married on the 6th day of Oct., 1833, to Susan, daughter of Joseph Greene, who was born in Cincinnati. After his marriage he located on the farm where he has since lived. Four children were born to them, viz: Joseph, Elizabeth, Phoebe and William. Mrs. Mounts departed this life Jan. 14, 1870, aged 54 years, 6 months and 1 day. He owns upward of 300 acres of land, which is largely in cultivation and well improved. He has been an exemplary member of the Methodist Episcopal Church since he was 16 years old, and is a genial, whole-souled and Christian gentleman. His son William enlisted in 1864, in Co. F. 146 O. N. G., served his time and was honorably discharged. He was married Oct. 8, 1872, to Susan A., daughter of Dr. Cottle, of Maineville, by whom he had three children, viz: Pearl, Mabel and Lucius. Mrs. M. was born in the county in 1846 and departed this life Aug. 2, 1881. William M. was born on the old home farm in 1844.
